Consultant Code of Conduct

Every consultant listed on ConsultNonprofit agrees to uphold this Code. Violations may result in unpublishing, loss of Verified status, or removal from the marketplace.

Honesty in representation

• Represent your services, credentials, and case studies accurately.
• Do not claim certifications you do not hold.
• Testimonials must be from real clients with permission to publish.

Client care

• Respond to nonprofit inquiries within a reasonable time or decline promptly.
• Provide a written scope, timeline, and fee before starting paid work.
• Treat nonprofit staff and volunteers with respect.

Ethics

• No commission-based fundraising fees ("percentage of funds raised") in violation of AFP standards.
• Disclose conflicts of interest.
• Protect confidential donor and organizational information.

Marketplace conduct

• Do not misuse contact information obtained through unlocked leads.
• Do not solicit reviews in exchange for services or gifts.
• Do not attempt to bypass marketplace protections or lead pricing.

Reporting

Report violations via the Complaint Procedure. We review every report and respond within 10 business days.
